How to Sew a Four-hole Button

The process is similar to sewing a two-hole button, only changing the fifth step of those previously indicated to sew a two-hole button. In this step we must pass the thread alternately through each of the holes making sure that the visible thread is parallel (or crossed if a stitch of this nature was used for the other buttons of the garment) and that visibly remains the same as in the rest Of buttons of the garment.

Tips for sewing a button

You may want to secure the thread in a first step by giving some superficial stitches before starting the final sewing of the cheap sewing buttons , especially if the fabric is somewhat porous.

Be careful with the sewing you leave on the back of the garment, even if you can not see the visible part of the garment can be removed, for this we must make sure that the thread always comes out at the same point.

It is important to take into account when sewing a button that we must leave enough space between the button and the fabric to allow an easy buttoning. There are people who usually put a pin between the button and the fabric to ensure that at the end of sewing and remove the pin this space exists.

If you want to secure the button better you can use a thicker thread or threading the needle using a double thread. This is especially recommended when sewing buttons of coats or dress suits in which it is necessary to make more force when it is time to fasten them. Of course, the color of the thread should always be similar but the same color used for the rest of the buttons of the garment.

At the end you can better secure the thread by making a knot that is glued to the fabric and then passing the needle a few times through the knot. And you can also use a hand sewing machine to finish the sewing process.

In the case of having lost the button and not finding a similar one, it is advisable to change all the buttons of the garment in question. Otherwise, our clothes would lose visibility.
