Simple
but complex planting apple
The
apple tree can be grown from seed. Inclusive is not as complicated to make
these germinate. The trickiest part comes after the tree is in full swing. And
you would need some gardening tools.
Although
cheaper, I do not know how good the idea of planting
an apple tree from seed (unless they are exclusive seeds for cultivation).
Since most of the seeds we buy apples commercially, come from trees that have
been manipulated through grafts and rootstocks by using foldable
grafting cutting tool. Then the trees generated by these seeds, not
have the same properties and characteristics of the original tree. But they
give smaller, sour and in some cases perhaps nothing appetizing fruits.
Choose
your apple tree
Ideally,
buy an established tree, at least four to six feet tall. It is important that
you check the leaves and trunk to make sure it is fully healthy. Most trees you
can find in nurseries are good species for cultivation, as they have been
created through rootstocks with gardening
safety anti-cutting gloves. This technique helps these trees are more
resistant to certain pests and are better suited to certain types of terrain.
Even depending on the root used in this type of graft is the size at which
arrive the tree when mature.
So
before buying your apple tree, try to find out not only the type of apple that
produces, but the size at which it can grow. Since you can choose from a sort
of semi-dwarf or dwarf growth steady growth.
Preferred
areas
Although
the apple tree needs good sun all day to produce fruit, also you need to go
through a period of rest (sleeping) during the winter time. Depending on the
species you choose, some will need colder winters than others, but all need to
be planted in places where there are real winters. More or less between zones 3
and 8 according to the map of climatic zones in North America.
