In
this post we will focus on introducing a little more new LED lighting systems.
These systems take advantage of the energy emitted by the light emitting
diodes, hence its name, the acronym in English of Light-Emitting Diode. These
diodes do not lose energy when producing light, which maximizes their power.
As
LEDs do not have enough power alone, LED clusters are made, so-called Led
Panels, these can contain more or less units depending on the surface to be
cultivated, being able to find panels with different configurations. We can
emphasize that the spectra of the led can be adapted according to the use that
is wanted to give, blue for the growth and red for the flowering or mixture of
both for the two periods. The LEDs do not lose power during use, like the LED
plant grow lights, they have a long life. Besides the light they emit
is continuous and does not cause any stress to the plants.
After
several tests with several models of LEDs, such as greenhouse
grow lights, we can say that we are facing a lighting system that can
revolutionize indoor cultivation, but not by saving energy, which would not
exceed 25% (a figure that is not negligible on the other hand) If not for the
ease that gives us for the management of the climate, especially in hot areas
and for the minimum stress to which the plant is subjected both in terms of climatic
stress and excess of direct radiation.
The
heat irradiation emitted by Led panels compared to HPS lamps is minimal,
greatly facilitating the control of the climate during the course of the crop,
as well as they will not emit much heat, they allow to realize cultures in
those times or zones warmer in Which can not be cultivated with HPS unless an
air conditioner is installed.
