Step by Step: How to Prepare Espresso?

Espresso coffee is a drink that is prepared in a few seconds and is characterized by a taste and aroma much more defined and concentrated than the rest of the cafes. To do it at home, you need to know some information about coffee, coffee and water, so you can taste and enjoy it in a few minutes.

To prepare an espresso, you will need a special coffee machine for this purpose (The espresso or espresso machine passes hot water, regularly at 90 ° C, at 8-15 atmospheres for 20 to 30 seconds for finely ground coffee, drawing its flavor and essence).

Usually these coffee machines consist of a filter holder, filter, milk frothing nozzle and most importantly, the pressure pump. The pressure is the key and determines the creaminess of the coffee. The preparation is fast, less than 2 minutes (hence its name), and you get an aromatic coffee, with body and great flavor. These types of coffee machines require specially selected and finely milled grains, such as those found in the varieties Ebony and Scarlet Coffee.

If you have a mill, you can adjust the type of ground according to the coffee you want to take. In this case, for espresso machines, you must calibrate it to obtain a fine grinding that has a better extraction and a more penetrating flavor.

Water is very important if you want good coffee. Generally speaking, water should preferably be purified or mineral and the temperature should not  exceed 90 ° C and you can heat it with Xiaomi Electric Kettle with which you can control the water temperature easily. The amount you need to prepare an espresso, usually, is around 7-9 grams of coffee per well of water, ie: a tablespoon flush. In case you want to prepare a stronger drink or a larger cup, use a coffee with a darker pulp like the Ebony Tint. Keep in mind that the coffee you do not use should be stored in the refrigerator, in an airtight container , to avoid losing its aroma and flavor.

To prepare it, place the amount of ground coffee, already ground, on the filter and press it with the aid of a spoon. You will see that the more compact it is, the water will take longer to filter and the espresso will be stronger. Keep in mind that if you push it too hard, the resulting drink may be bitter and with less aroma. This also depends a lot on the grinding of the grains, because if it is big grains, the water will take very little to filter and the flavor will be very smooth. Regarding the preparation time, to make a good cup of espresso, with 20 or 25 seconds will be more than enough, although that always depends on the size of the cup.
