Installing Plant Wall: Your Garden is Wall

A green wall, or green wall, has amazing thermal and acoustic properties. A green wall made with depolluting plants purifies your indoor air. Not to mention the beauty of the green walls; more than one reason to install one at home.

Green garden - Your garden is wall
The plant wall technique is quite simple. Developed by a CNRS researcher, Patrick Blanc, it consists in:
1.Lay a metal or wooden frame on a wall
2.Attach a 10mm thick expanded PVC sheet to this framework
3.Staple two layers of felt to form pockets
4.Fill these pockets of the substrate that will serve as a nourishing support for plants: soil enriched with fertilizer and sphagnum peat moss
5.Connect these pockets with a network of pipes that will impregnate the felt with a nutrient solution and water.

Easy green wall
There are ready-to-use polypropylene frames that go directly to the wall and do not require water or electricity. The hollow structure of the framework of this type of green wall serves as a reservoir. And it is easy for you to create a simple green wall by using many hanging flower pots to form a green wall

How does a plant wall work
A green wall eases the border between inside and outside and domestic nature closer to you.

The nutrient liquid flows slowly along the plant wall allowing plants to draw the elements they need. The excess water is collected by a gutter and reinjected into the automatic irrigation (or by hand) thus allowing the green wall to operate in a closed circuit

Plant wall: did you know?
A wall of vegetation, thanks to the cushion of air which separates it from the wall as well as to the protection of the plants, makes it possible to lower by 15 ° C the surface temperature of a wall or a roof exposed in full sun.

A plant wall rebalances the hygrometry of the air in your interiors.

Which plants on a plant wall?
You can install something to give your room a little jungle look: ferns, tradescantias with lush appearance or more off-the-wall plants like baby tears or perennial geraniums.

But you can also take the opportunity to use depolluting plants such as Boston ferns, anthuriums or synonyms.

A hollow brick wall
To accentuate the phonic qualities of a plant wall, for example, for a green wall on the edge of a neighbor's garden or near a road, you can:

Use hollow bricks on which you set "pockets" planted.
Choosing the Sphagnum Plant, a South American wetland plant, has two great qualities: its sound insulation and its ability to hold 20 times its weight in water
