The last toy received is a connected kettle of Xiaomi. Because there is no reason that the kitchen escapes from its connected gadgets first and then because if it is Xiaomi it should be not bad.
This kettle is available for about 42.53 € on Banggood, a single model, a single color. The kettle has a Bluetooth connection, which will be more limiting than the iKettle of Smarter which it has Wifi.
The Xiaomi kettle
Let's start with the kettle itself. Xiaomi quality, no complaints. It is a kettle of great capacity (1,5L) and on its foot, it has good pace since it does not exceed.
A button on the top to open the flapper. Two small touch buttons to light and keep warm (I would come back to this point because it is an advantage of this kettle)
Negative side:
The cable is too short for my taste so it is a pity
The two touch buttons have text in Chinese, ok Xiaomi is Chinese for the Chinese market first but it's a shame not to take a little drawing emoticon type, symbol ...
Back in usage:
The kettle is silent compared to previous models that I could have (big consumers of the kettle at home)
The function keeps you warm is great for hot water when you need it. For example, there I caught a cold this weekend, suddenly when I want to take a ginger tea I move once in my office and I come back with no wasting time. Before it's stupid but many times I put in hot water, forgotten and when I came back I had to turn it on again.
The kettle on the phone
The kettle is used with the Mi Home app. It is added by scanning with Bluetooth enabled.
The screen of the kettle shows the temperature of the water (utility probably the small piece of metal in the kettle) and the bottom comes alive with the bubbles as seen a little here.
We find actions fairly basic or rather simple because of no need for more. What warm-up period, what temperature.
We can access the types of temperatures created by Xiaomi and there we can see the Chinese origins (baby rice flour, but especially coffee kettle ...)
So the app goes to the basics, I did not think to find more see even less.
And Jeedom?
So for sure, BLEA will give you the presence of the boil if an antenna is in range ... How useless for an object that should not move? Good ok
We will see if Ludo will manage to integrate the kettle in BLEA. I want to say if it's possible it will happen.
This was my first question at reception, but after a little use, it seems less essential. The ability to set a heating time with a shelf life at temperature makes it less critical. And that's the first benefit I see the warm-up time. So roughly from 6 am to 8 am, the water can stay hot so that everyone is hot water.
The Bluetooth on this point will have the limit of the range. But who is not going to put BLEA antennas all over his house? It is surely a next presentation that I would make you a screen deportee in the kitchen.
