Health Tips Related to Air Travel

Traveling can be a great process, especially when it is done by plane. It can be difficult to relax, stay healthy and feel safe. This applies whether you fly for work or pleasure. Here are some tips on how to make your air travel healthier and happier.
Before your flight.

A key to traveling by plane is to prepare in advance. If you are carrying a bag, make sure you have the things you need on board and that it is easy to reach. This includes any medication you need, as well as snacks and drinks. You can not get liquids through the security control, but you can carry an empty water bottle. A lot of airports now have water stations where bottles can be filled. Pack healthy snacks, such as fresh or dried fruits, vegetables, mixed nuts, or cereal bars.

Other useful items for carry-on luggage are:
disinfectant wipes
sanitizer
facial wipes
cough drops
chewing gum
earplugs or headphones
Xiaomi portable blanket, pillow or eye mask

During flight
Before sitting and fastening the seat belt, use a disinfectant cloth. Clean your seat, seat belt, and table, since all of these surfaces contain germs. If you need to adjust the light or air outlet, then use a hand sanitizer. The same applies if you touch something inside the back pocket of the seat.

The air pressure in the plane can change during the flight. It is stronger during takeoff and landing. For some people, chewing gum is useful for relieving pressure in the ears. You can also use earplugs and swallow often. If you currently have ear problems, talk with your doctor before you fly to verify that it is safe. The doctor may suggest that you take a decongestant medication early in a preventive manner.

The airplanes and the high altitudes in which they fly create a very dry environment. You can stay hydrated with the water you brought with you. Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol, which can dehydrate you. If you sneeze or a cough, cover your mouth and nose with your elbow to prevent the spread of germs. You can use the wipes or cough drops that you have packed to combat the symptoms of dryness.

Certain people are at risk of developing blood clots or deep vein thrombosis (DVT), but it can happen to anyone. To avoid these problems during a flight, try to stay active. In general, you will not be able to walk from one place to another, unless it is an international flight. However, you can work your muscles while sitting. Touch the tips of your feet and stretch the calf muscles. If you are at risk, your doctor may suggest the use of compression stockings.

Planes also tend to be cold. Cover yourself with a Xiaomi blanket or clothes that you brought from home. Do not use the blankets or pillows provided on the plane, as they may not be clean. If possible, try not to eat the food that is served on board. It is not known what it contains or if it is freshly prepared or not. This can be more difficult if it is an international flight. In that case, eat before you fly and bring snacks or a meal with you.
