With a greenhouse, we can grow without having to wait for the planting season. You can make this type of structures in many ways and the materials we can use are very diverse, from a piece of clear plastic to plastic bottles also, wood, glass (using, for example, old windows) and even boxes of CDs. Here we are going to give you just a few guidelines because everyone has their own tastes, so let your imagination fly and build your own personalized greenhouse!
We must bear in mind that, if we do it with plastic, it must have certain openings to ventilate the cabin and watch out! The plastic should not touch the plant because it could burn it or rot it. With regard to light, when the days are shorter (autumn and winter) we must provide on our own that light that is missing from the plant and we have to do it with 12W led grow lamp. When the plant begins to bloom you have to stop giving it this extra light.
The size
The structure of our greenhouse has to have a minimum height of half a meter, but it is better to have a few centimeters more, especially if the size of the plant we have chosen to grow exceeds one meter in height. The width will vary from the space we have and the number of seeds we want to grow.
To control the interior temperature of the greenhouse, good ventilation must be carried out. For this, one of the solutions is to make some windows in the upper part so that when they are open they allow to expel the hot air that, being lighter than the cold, weighs less and rises. In order for this system to work, windows must also be made in the lower part to allow fresh air from outside.
If we want to raise the temperature inside the greenhouse, and this is outside at ground level, we can make a hole of approximately half a meter in depth since the temperature of the deepest layers of the earth is hotter. To increase the temperature you can also choose to fill that manure hole since this component is a good heat generator due to the combustion process that it performs. It is advised that the temperature does not fall below 18ºC.
Another aspect to take into account is the humidity of the greenhouse. If we want to increase humidity we can place containers with water inside it, however, if we want to reduce it, we must ventilate the interior well. It is advisable to keep humidity between 60 and 70 percent.
Without complications
For those who are not very handy but want to have their own greenhouse, they will always have the possibility of obtaining an installation of this type at a very affordable price.
One last question, but not leaving it to the end is less important: do not put the greenhouse in sight, many crops are lost because they are not very discreet and there is a lot of 'friend of the outsiders'.
